The successful candidate will participate in team-based research investigating the impacts of natural (e.g. fire, global warming) and anthropogenic disturbances (e.g. harvesting, air pollution) on the sustainability of forest productivity and provision of ecosystem services. The incumbent will use his/her knowledge, skills and experience in forest soil ecology, and related physical and chemical sciences, to examine linkages between below-ground processes and site productivity, biogeochemical fluxes to the atmosphere and aquatic systems, and long-term ecosystem integrity.
