| Was this course intellectually stimulating? Did it stretch your thinking? (see above) Why or why not? | |
| I learned a lot about the
subject my group chose for the internet project. This course was awesome i learn so many things about the environment and all the little things that we do and take for granted that can have huge impacts on the envirnment The online format meant that I could choose from a broad list of topics and focus on what I found interesting. So many different facts from all different views. I found SO much of the reading very very interesting. Lots of little facts and intriguing thoughts. I did not realize that Environmental Science would cover so many different aspects and I really can't emphasize enough how much I learned. this course brought up topics of environmental science that i never thought about which made them interesting to learn more about. Learn new enviromental factors that contribute to our daily lives. Made you take some sort of stand on issues and really look at both sides of things. i learned alot throughout the book, it was very interesting |
|
| What aspects of this course contributed most to your learning? | |
| The book and the discussion e
post contributed most to my learning and the chapter review questions The project allowed me to apply some of the things I learned to a topic of my choice, which made it more interesting for me. Rob and the TA's efficient responses. Taking it online, I did not ever feel lost. I believe that Rob and the TA's wanted us to do well, helped us to keep up, and answered our e-mails very efficiently and soon. The class website was very thorough and each assignment came with a complete explanation. We knew clearly where the bar was set and what we needed to do to succeed. Great class. be able to look through the past exams helped a LOT. without those exams, this course would be a little more difficult. web-site creation. Also the peer review. It made people look at other's projects and learn more about other issues reading |
|
| What aspects of this course detracted from your learning? | |
| The group
project didn't really detract form my learning but it did make the
class exponetially more stressful at times because its hard to work
effectively in groups of people you've never met or seen before I didn't think that the peer reviews were very helpful. None. the long power point lectures. none nothing |
|
| What suggestions do you have for improving the course? | |
| The only
suggestion i have for this class is to somehow do individual projects
instead of group projects as the saying goes "group work breeds
laziness" .... i wish that i would have taken the lecture class because
from the two times i met him, at the medterm and final, prof. Harrison
seemed like really good teacher Maybe a few small homework assignments to help digest our readings. But on the other hand, I think the review was a good self-test way to digest. I just printed out the reviews early, and completed them as I went through the chapters as a self-homework. Rob and his TA's were excellent! none. good job. Great job Rob!!! very well constructed class. Makes me want to take more internet classes. n/a |
